This is not a paint night. It’s not an art class.

There is no skill required. No experience needed. No right or wrong way to do this.

What you’re here for is a process. One that works whether you’ve ever tried to create a painting or not. Not just to make something beautiful to look at… but to move something inside you that’s been waiting to move.

People walk into this room carrying things. Grief. Stress. A version of themselves they’re tired of being. A feeling they haven’t been able to name. And they walk out lighter.

There are two things that can happen
for you in this process.

Release

You take something you’re done carrying… a feeling, a weight, something you’ve been holding onto… and you write it directly on the canvas in paint. It leaves you. It lives on the wall. Your emotional load gets lighter.

Intention

You take something you want to move toward… a feeling, a version of yourself you’re ready to step into… and you write it directly on the canvas. It gets embedded in the work. It goes home with you as a daily reminder of who you are becoming.

You get to decide which one you need. Or maybe it’s both.

The Process

Set Your Intention
Step 1

Set Your Intention

You arrive with something in mind. We’ll slow down together so you can connect with it more fully. One word. A feeling. A version of yourself.

Layer the Colors
Step 2

Layer the Colors

You choose the colors that feel right. You mix them. You pour them. Color moves the way emotion moves… spreading, mixing, refusing to be controlled.

Release With Flow
Step 3

Release With Flow

Your intention, written in paint, is surrendered into movement. Watch what happens when you stop trying to control it.

A Finished Piece
Step 4

A Finished Piece

By the end of the workshop, you’ve completed a painting that is entirely, specifically, unmistakably yours. Not a decoration. A reminder.

“The paint teaches you what control can’t — and that lesson stays with you long after you leave.”

— Suzanne M.

This workshop is for you if…

  • You’re carrying something you’ve been meaning to put down.
  • You’ve tried talking about it… and talking isn’t enough.
  • You’re ready to call something forward… a feeling, a version of yourself, a way of being you’re ready to step into.
  • You want an experience, not an explanation.
  • You’re willing to show up and be honest, even if that feels uncomfortable.
  • You want a tangible reminder of that intention living somewhere in your space where you can see it.

You don’t need to be an artist. You don’t need any experience. You need to be ready.

David Katz

I’m not a formally trained artist.

After a traumatic brain injury, something shifted in me… a need that led me to painting. What I discovered was that the canvas could hold what words couldn’t. I could take what I was carrying emotionally and release it through the painting… and put down what I no longer wanted to hold.

I created my first painting in February 2022. Since then I’ve completed over 100 pieces, and I’ve been guiding others through this same process since Spring 2023. What I share isn’t technique. It’s a process about surrendering, trusting, and allowing something to shift inside you… and on the canvas.

I found this because I needed it. Something tells me you’re here for the same reason.

Frequently Asked Questions

None. This is not about technique. It’s about intention. The entire process is guided from start to finish.
You write your intention directly in paint onto the canvas. Then we use a blow dryer to let it move, expand, and transform. The physical act mirrors the internal one. Most people feel it immediately.
The original workshop uses a ring pour where you surrender to the movement of paint. This one is different. You write your intention directly in paint, then use a blow dryer to release it into movement. The technique is different, the focus is deeper, and people who have done both say this one hit differently. They complement each other, but each stands entirely on its own.
Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring as many guests as there’s room for in the workshop. Just make sure everyone registers before spots fill.
Yes. A private workshop is a wonderful option for a gathering of friends, a team event, a family experience, or any group looking for something meaningful and memorable together. Reach out to us directly to learn more and check availability.
Something you’re okay getting paint on. It’s part of the experience.
Paintings typically need a few days to fully dry before they’re ready to travel. Pickup is coordinated a few days after the event — we’ll be in touch with the details.
Some workshops are designed specifically for children ages 10 and up alongside their parents… others are adult-focused. If you’re wondering whether a specific workshop is the right fit for your family, reach out before registering and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Due to the small and intentional nature of these workshops, all registrations are nonrefundable. You’re always welcome to transfer your spot to someone else… just let us know in advance so we can update the registration. If you need to cancel and can give us at least 48 hours notice, we’re happy to reschedule you to a future date within 60 days… any price difference between your original date and the new one will apply. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the workshop, or no-shows, forfeit the registration with no reschedule credit… similar to concert or event tickets, we’re not able to hold or resell a spot on short notice.

In a little over three hours, you can walk out emotionally lighter than you walked in… and with more clarity about who you’re becoming.
